Emily Kennedy is the Co-Founder and CEO of Marinus Analytics which uses pioneering technology including data mining and machine learning to rescue victims of human trafficking and to locate and prosecute traffickers. Her company created products like TrafficJam and FaceSearch to help law enforcement with tools founded in artificial intelligence, to turn big data into actionable intelligence. TrafficJam looks at online ads selling sex or messages, then scrapes and stores all the data. Law enforcement can search TrafficJam for a name, ad, photo, phone number, social media, etc. to track down victims and exploiters. FaceSearch uses facial recognition technology so law enforcement can use photos to help locate victims. These tools are used by hundreds of local law enforcement agencies in the US and Canada by sheriffs, state attorneys general, the FBI and Homeland Security.
