Danya Sherman

Danya Sherman is the Founder and CEO of KnoNap, a detection device disguised as a napkin that detects dangerous chemicals in a beverage. It has perforations along two sides that are lined with detection chemicals that are activated when dipped into a drink. She was studying in Spain when a man who she thought was her friend laced her drink and sexually assaulted her. Most sexual assault occurs between people who know each other so she created a product people could feel comfortable using in any social situation. She is planning to launch and execute a Kickstarter in April 2018 and working to have the product shipped late Fall 2018.

Prior to establishing KnoNap, Danya Sherman worked on Capitol Hill and in NGOs addressing women’s issues and human rights. In her roles, she acquired legislative and financial experience. Sherman is an entrepreneur passionate about combining human rights and technology innovation to create lasting, sustainable, social change.
